On March 15th, Tangshan Sanyou Group Co., Ltd. announced that since its adoption on January 31st, the first concentrated seawater utilization project in China, which has been built by the group, has been operating smoothly for 45 days. The technical indicators of the installation are stable and the quality of refined brine is normal. The use of 1,090 cubic meters of concentrated seawater per hour can reduce the consumption of raw salt by 236 kilograms per ton of soda ash, reduce the consumption of direct current water by approximately 4.1 tons, and increase annual profits by more than 100 million yuan. The project officially started on January 8, 2011. After 1 year of project construction and installation commissioning, it was officially put into operation on January 31, 2012, and it has been operating stably for 45 days. The project has been listed in the national budget investment plan for the revitalization and technological transformation of key industries.
According to the introduction of the chairman of Sanyou Group, Mr. Zhiyi Zhi, the project uses the concentrated waste seawater generated from the seawater desalination unit of the Caofeidian Industrial Zone as a raw material, which is refined and used for soda ash production. It is estimated that this project can use 18 million cubic meters of concentrated seawater, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tons, comprehensively use raw salt of 600,000 tons, and save 10 million cubic meters of water resources.
The project was completed and put into production, which realized the full recycling of salt and water resources, reduced the production cost of soda ash, and further extended the seawater desalination industrial chain. In recent years, in order to solve the problem of industrial water use, China has vigorously developed seawater desalination projects. However, the outlets for waste concentrated seawater have been plaguing the further development of the desalination industry. Since 2006, scientists and technicians have carried out thousands of tests and successively solved problems such as using boiler flue gas to remove calcium, using calcium carbide slag to remove magnesium, salt mud high-efficiency pressure filtration, preheating and concentration of concentrated seawater, and successfully developed. The use of concentrated seawater for the production of soda ash has created a strong history in the history of soda ash development.
