Hydrogen fuel cell engine
It is understood that the ProGen engine is a fuel cell engine designed for independent companies. The modular design and AFC's membrane electrode assembly technology enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to easily adopt sustainable fuel cell power. The product has high utilization rate, long running time and high reliability in harsh environments. The engine solution includes a fuel cell stack, a balance required by the plant, a DC/DC converter, and a cooling system. The main areas of application will be trucks and light/medium cargo trucks. The first commercial orders are expected to be delivered in July 2019 for road electric mobility applications in Europe and Asia.
Founded in 1997, Plug Power is one of the largest proton exchange membrane fuel cell development companies in the United States. It is principally engaged in the design, development, manufacture and commercial application of hydrogen fuel cell systems. The main application areas are fuel cell backup power supply, fixed power station and fuel cell application on forklifts. Its main customers are Wal-Mart and Amazon. Plug Power is also the largest fuel cell forklift company. In the global fuel cell forklift segment, Plug Power has a market share of 95%. The company has so far supplied more than 25,000 fuel cells to the market, which have more than 180 million hours of operation.

Plug Power has been researching portable power systems for handling transportation equipment for many years and is working to reduce the cost of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles through more efficient fuel cell engines.
