The Bloomingdale Fire Protection District (FPD) responded to a reported explosion at an industrial facility in unincorporated Glendale Heights this afternoon. According to *The Daily Herald*, the incident occurred at Northstar Metal Products Inc., a metal fabrication plant, and resulted in at least two injuries.
Bloomingdale Deputy Fire Chief Jeffrey Janus stated that firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:56 a.m. after receiving the initial call. Upon arrival, they found smoke pouring from the rear of the building located at 591 Mitchell Drive. Emergency crews quickly began assessing the situation and working to control the fire.
