The China Drying Network held its first meeting on the Standard of Flow Battery Standards in Washington, DC. The first session of the Director of the Standardization Technical Committee of the Liquid Flow Battery of the Chinese Energy Industry and the Researcher of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Zhang Huamin were elected as the general technical conditions of the flow battery. "Test method" is responsible for the international standard project and is fully responsible for the development of international standard for the flow battery. This indicates that the technical level of China's flow battery has been recognized internationally.
The conference was jointly held by the International Electrotechnical Industry Association (IEC) Secondary Battery Technical Committee (TC21) and Fuel Cell Technology Committee (TC105). On October 28, 2011, China became a permanent member of the IEC; in October 2012, Zhang Huamin first proposed to IEC105 the development of international standards for IEC flow battery; at the beginning of 2013, IEC agreed to establish a joint working group by TC21 and TC105. In September 2013, Zhang Huamin organized the Dalian Institute of Chemical Industry and the Dalian Rongke Energy Storage Technology Development Co., Ltd. team to work on the basis of the national “863†project, the research standard for flow battery performance standards. Drafted an international standard proposal for "General technical conditions and test methods for flow batteries" and formally submitted it to the IEC. After voting by various member states, the proposal was successfully passed.
At the meeting on the standard work of the flow battery, Zhang Huamin was invited to lead a delegation to participate in the joint working group preparation meeting. He introduced the technical and standardization progress of the flow battery in China and the standard of the general technical conditions and test methods for flow batteries. The framework and content have been unanimously approved by the member states.
