It is reported that Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co., Ltd. (Zhenhua Port Machinery) has indicated that it is considering the acquisition of the German shipyard - JJ Sietas Schiffswerft (Sietas Shipyard) established in Hamburg in 1635.
According to Alphaliner, SietasShipyard has built a large number of small and medium-sized ships from the mid-1960s to 2009, of which the most constructed one is the 1850TEU container ship.
After the delivery of the Dutch shipowner JRShipping a 1421 TEU container ship "Elysee" in 2009, SietasShipyard reorganized to build offshore support vessels, dredgers and small ferries. After the shipyard declared bankruptcy in November 2011, the shipyard continued to build ships after layoffs and liquidation. The last ship under construction is the "Aeolus" wind power installation vessel of the Dutch shipowner VanOord.
