Daqing Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd.'s Acrylamide Plant has made significant progress in energy conservation and emission reduction by leveraging both management strategies and technological improvements. The plant has established a dedicated working group focused on energy saving and environmental protection, developed a long-term plan for energy efficiency within the workshop, and created a specific 2008 action plan. These efforts have been integrated into the "Acrylamide Workshop Evaluation Rules" to ensure consistent implementation.
In response to seasonal changes, the workshop transitioned from steam heating to plumbing systems, optimizing resource use. It also adjusted the volume of recycled water based on production demands, ensuring efficient water management. Additionally, the plant emphasizes daily operational control, encouraging employees to minimize the consumption of fresh water, deionized water, and steam while maintaining production standards.
To motivate staff, the plant links team performance and bonuses with energy-saving achievements, fostering a culture of sustainability. Employees are encouraged to submit suggestions for further energy and emission reductions, and those who contribute are recognized and rewarded.
The workshop has also implemented several small-scale upgrades, such as repurposing seal water that was previously discharged directly and adding hot lines to fresh water pipelines outside the facility to prevent unnecessary water discharge during winter. These initiatives have led to annual savings of 15,500 tons of fresh water and a monthly reduction of 200 tons in wastewater discharge, demonstrating the effectiveness of their comprehensive approach to sustainability.
