[ China Instrument Network Instrument Development ] Recently, a preliminary inspection and acceptance meeting was held in Beijing for the national major scientific instrument development project "Development of New Femtosecond Laser Tracker," led by the Laser Measurement Room at the Institute of Optoelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Organized by the Conditional Support and Finance Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the meeting brought together an expert team led by Academician Ye Shenghua from Tianjin University. The panel included experts from institutions such as the National Metrology Institute, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Optical Instrument Factory, and Changchun Aopu. Over 40 participants from various research institutes, including the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of High Energy Physics, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Microelectronics, and representatives from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the event.
The preliminary acceptance process involved two main stages: on-site testing and a presentation meeting. During the testing phase, the project leader, Zhou Weihu, provided an overview of the project background and pre-test status to the evaluation experts. Following a detailed review of test documents, the performance of the femtosecond laser tracker prototypes was evaluated on-site according to the established test plan, with test opinions compiled accordingly. In the second stage, the project leader and sub-task teams presented their progress, followed by a Q&A session where the test team shared their findings. After thorough discussions, the preliminary acceptance decision was finalized.
The expert group confirmed that the project met all the requirements outlined in the task book. The prototype’s technical specifications and application goals were verified through third-party testing, along with proper documentation and management practices. All experts unanimously approved the preliminary acceptance and recommended further development of the prototype, focusing on miniaturization and industrialization. They emphasized the importance of providing advanced precision measurement solutions to support China’s growing manufacturing sector.
