Effect of seed coat and light on seed germination of iris

The iris is a perennial perennial flower of the genus Iris of the family Iris, with a stout fleshy rhizome. This type of iris, native to Europe, is very rich in color and includes almost all colors except positive red. It is a world famous perennial flower. Regarding the influencing factors of seed germination, this article starts from two aspects, namely the effect of seed coat and light on seed germination. In the process of studying the effect of light on seed germination, we need to use a small automatic weather station to measure and record the light conditions.

The inhibitory effect of seed coat on seed germination is mainly manifested in: first, seed coat contains inhibitors; second, seed coat mechanical resistance and permeability. Xiao Yuexi's research on the southwestern appendix showed that the seed coat permeability was good; the research on the water permeability of four species of Iris plants by Yan Xiaohua showed that the seed coats of the swallow flowers, the flower of the hostia, the creek of the river, and the iris of the iris were not the inhibitory factors for seed germination. According to the water absorption test of seeds, it can be seen that there is 100% water absorption on the first day of the seed coat, and there is no swelling effect on the seed germination of the seed coat; the seed germination test can be seen by peeling the germination hole. The germination rate of seeds and unpeeled seeds of the seed coat and the seed coat completely peeled have extremely significant differences, indicating that the seed coat has mechanical obstacles to the germination of the seed of the iris, and the presence or absence of the inhibitor must be further studied.

The environmental conditions required for seed germination of different plants are different. This physiological characteristic is formed by the plants constantly adapting to the surrounding environment during the long evolutionary process. Generally, seed germination and light are not related, and it can be carried out under dark or light conditions. However, there are a few seeds of plants that need germination in the presence of light. Such seeds are called light-seeded seeds. In some other plants, germination is inhibited by light. Such seeds are called seeds that are too light. Light is measured by a small weather station. In this experiment, the germination rate reached 51.3% at 60 days under dark conditions, which was significantly different from the 26.7% germination rate at 60 days under light conditions, indicating that the germination of iris seeds inhibits them, which is in contrast to soil Natural germination is consistent with the result of long-term natural selection of seeds.
