On September 11, 2012, Chief Bob Tutko of the Homer Township Fire Department and the members of the Black Shift held a special ceremony to officially put Engine 32 into service. At 2:40 p.m., Wescom Dispatch activated the speakers, marking the official start of Engine 32's operational life. The rig was purchased by the department from Fire Service Inc., with Pete Lomardi representing the company during the sale.
