I just got back from covering a fire at a strip mall in Mundelein on September 2, 2020. It was quite an intense scene, and I managed to capture some photos and even recorded some audio while I was there. The fire department responded quickly, and you could see the determination in their faces as they worked to get the situation under control.
Here’s one of the photos I took. It shows a Pierce Impel quint sitting at the fire scene. This particular piece of equipment played a crucial role in helping contain the blaze. Larry Shapiro snapped this shot, and it really captures the energy and focus of everyone involved.
And here’s another image that gives you a sense of the aftermath. As you can see, the damage was extensive, but thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Again, Larry Shapiro was the photographer behind this powerful image.

DIY Hot Melt Adhesive And Equipment
Hot melt adhesive is short for hot melt adhesive, it does not use any solvent in production and application, non-toxic, tasteless, does not pollute the environment, known as "green adhesive", especially suitable for use in continuous production line. Since it is 100% solid without any solvents, it can meet the most stringent air pollution control requirements and there is little risk of fire or explosion.
In addition, the hot melt adhesive has the following advantages for the user: â— curing speed is fast, reducing the amount of compression required for gluing, so the production speed can be improved, and the equipment space is also saved. â— It can be applied to hydrophobic surfaces without the need for wet dissolving agents. Therefore, it has water resistance and excellent storage stability. â— Less waste because 100% solid parts are fully available, which can reduce transportation and storage costs. â— Wide range of substrates that can be followed and can be automated.

The packaging industry accounts for more than 50% of the hot melt adhesive application market, and these packaging materials include pleated cardboard boxes, corrugated cartons, laminated cans, tapes and other laminated coating materials. Non-woven textiles include sanitary napkins, diapers, clothing fitting, sewing and so on. Woven products include ready-to-wear, edging, tape, carpet backing. Office supplies include tape, documents, self-adhesive labels, envelopes, and folders. The parts portfolio includes soft drinks, electronics, book packaging, furniture, shoes, DIY handicrafts, as well as carpentry, plywood and more.
