Box Alarm in Woodstock, 1-4-15

It’s Tyler Tobolt here again, sharing an update on a recent fire incident. The Woodstock Fire Rescue Department was called out to 1033 Wanda Drive in response to a general alarm signaling a structure fire. When the crews arrived on scene, they found smoke billowing from the roof of the building. Approximately 15 minutes after their arrival, the incident commander requested additional resources by upgrading the response to a box alarm level, calling in MABAS box 5-32. A number of units were dispatched to assist with the situation. Engine companies from Huntley and Nunda Rural were among those responding. The McHenry Township Truck Company also joined the effort. On the command side, both the Crystal Lake and Union Chief Officers were deployed. Additionally, the Wonder Lake Squad unit was on standby. A Union engine was assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). Special services like the Mess Canteen were also present to support the firefighters. Coordinated Operational Quarters (COQ) included resources from Marengo EMS, Spring Grove Engine, Rutland-Dundee Engine, Harvard EMS, and the Algonquin Engine. Ammonia cracker
