Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine wins international award again

Hyundai Heavy Industries HiMSEN diesel engine has won high recognition in the industry for its excellent running performance and economical environmental protection. Recently, it won the 2010 Red Dot Design Award in Germany.

Hyundai Heavy Industries' HiMSEN medium speed diesel engine (18H32/40V) and the ship monitoring system, the control and integration system ACONIS-DS, have won awards. The entries in this competition come from 57 countries around the world, with approximately 4,252 products. The winning entries will be on display at the Red Dot Museum in Essen, Germany for one year.

The HiMSEN medium-speed diesel engine has also been highly recognized by the industry for its environmental protection, high output power and low fuel consumption. It has won the International Design Award in the InternationalForumDesignAward2010 (iF Design Award) held in Germany. In November 2009, HiMSEN diesel engine won the silver prize of “PINUPDesignAwards2009” in Korea.

The advanced control and integration system (ACONIS-DS) developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries is user-friendly and features high-intensity light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a high-gloss acrylic front panel.

Since the establishment of an independent research and development center in 2000, Hyundai Heavy Industries has been committed to the development of high-performance products. The senior leaders of Korea Hyundai Heavy Industries R&D Center stated that “in determining the value factor of the product, the quality of the design and the product itself is also very important. We will continue to work hard to research and develop better new products.”
