**Box Alarm in Glen Ellyn, May 9, 2014**
This just came in from John Tulipano. He sent over some quick shots from the box alarm that went off today at 503 Duane Street in Glen Ellyn. The fire department responded swiftly and managed to contain the situation pretty quickly. It seems there was a fire in one room on the third floor, located at the back of a three-story building. This commercial structure, measuring 50 feet by 100 feet, also had residential units on the upper floors. Thankfully, only one civilian needed to be transported to Loyola hospital.

**Working Fire in Bloomingdale, May 9, 2014**
John Tulipano also sent me details about another fire he witnessed today in Bloomingdale. This second incident happened in a three-story apartment building, measuring 50 feet by 75 feet, and was fully occupied. The fire originated in a hot water heater flue within a void space on the first floor and spread upward through the same void. Fortunately, firefighters were able to achieve a fast knockdown using just one line.
