I’m deeply honored to step into the role of CEO at such an extraordinary company like Autodesk. Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Autodesk evolve from its early days into the powerhouse it is today. It’s incredibly humbling to reflect on the journey we’ve embarked upon together, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve achieved as a team. Our success isn’t built on any one product or initiative—it’s the culmination of everyone’s hard work, creativity, and dedication. Each of you brings something unique to the table, and it’s through your combined efforts that we’ll continue to push boundaries and achieve greatness.
Throughout its storied history, Autodesk has always been synonymous with groundbreaking product innovations and flawless business execution. From pioneering the transition of design documentation into the digital age, to introducing 3D modeling to a broader audience, we’ve consistently redefined what’s possible in the world of engineering and architecture. Being the first to embrace cloud computing, mobile solutions, and subscription-based models wasn’t just about staying ahead—it was about setting trends and shaping industries. Now, we’re poised to take another monumental leap forward by reinventing how things are made.
The future of Autodesk won’t hinge solely on product advancements or strategic pivots—it lies in seamlessly integrating these two pillars to deliver unparalleled value to our customers. To do this, we need to refine not only the tools we create but also the overall customer experience. Our mission remains unwavering: to empower creators everywhere with cutting-edge technologies that enable them to build a better tomorrow. Whether it’s designing sustainable cities, crafting revolutionary products, or envisioning futuristic spaces, our tools play a vital role in turning imagination into reality.
While I’m thrilled about the opportunities ahead, I must confess that today’s announcement carries mixed emotions. With heavy hearts, we’ve learned that Amar Hanspal has decided to part ways with Autodesk after an illustrious 30-year tenure. Amar and I have shared countless milestones throughout our time here, and his contributions have been nothing short of transformative. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence and innovation that will continue to inspire generations of leaders within the organization. In light of this change, I’m pleased to announce that Scott Reese will temporarily assume leadership of the Product Development Group, while Lisa Campbell will step up as interim head of Business Strategy & Marketing. Both are seasoned professionals who I trust implicitly to guide us through this transition period.
As much as I’ll miss seeing Amar around the office, I’m optimistic about what lies ahead. Over the coming months, I plan to travel extensively across our regions to connect personally with our customers, partners, and stakeholders. There’s no greater joy than being part of a community where creativity thrives and possibilities abound. Together, let’s keep pushing the envelope and delivering solutions that matter most to those who rely on us daily.
Thank you all for your continued support and commitment during this exciting yet challenging chapter. I’m confident that under our collective guidance, Autodesk will continue to lead the charge in shaping the future of design and manufacturing.
Warm regards,
Andrew
