Recently, the Bosch Group announced its 2011 performance in China and its 2012 development strategy . In 2011, Bosch Group's sales in China reached 42.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Among them, its main business vehicle technology business achieved sales of 24.9 billion yuan, up 7% year-on-year.
Chen Yudong, president of Bosch (China) stated that in the future Bosch will strengthen its domestic R&D capabilities. As of now, Bosch has established 13 technology centers in China, and more than 2,700 R&D personnel are dedicated to developing products and technologies for the Chinese market. It is worth mentioning that a team of about 120 local engineers is working on the R&D of new energy vehicles to meet the needs of the Chinese market. In addition, Bosch has established joint laboratories with some domestic universities since the launch of the Global Academy Program in 2011. The joint research and development model of schools and enterprises has enabled Bosch to obtain the first batch of patents in the field of electric vehicle technology.
From 2012, Bosch will invest 3 billion to 4 billion yuan in China. In the western part of China, Bosch will build a new factory to increase production capacity. The new Bosch Chassis Control System plant was established in February 2012 in Chengdu. In addition, Bosch will also establish more than 10 regional sales offices in cities such as Changsha and Wuhan.
